Bach Flower Remedies
There are 38 remedies in the Bach remedy system . All of them were discovered in the 1920s and 1930s by Dr Edward Bach, a renowned bacteriologist, physician and pathologist. He believed, as many doctors do today, that attitude of mind plays a vital role in maintaining health and recovering from illness. Driven by this belief he developed a complete system of 38 flower remedies, each prepared from the flowers of wild plants, trees and bushes, designed to help us rediscover the positive side of ourselves. Each remedy is associated with a basic human emotion. Mimulus, for example, is the remedy for when we are anxious or afraid about something specific. Taking the remedy helps us overcome our fear and face it with courage.
I trained in the use of Bach Flower Remedies with Nelsons Pharmacy in London. Nelsons supply the original Bach flower remedies made from mother tinctures made from the flowers in Dr Bach's own garden and these are the remedies that I use in my practice.
I use the flower remedies in combination with reflexology and kinesiology testing to help my clients to deal with any emotional issues that they may be experiencing. With sensitive and careful listening combined with my in-depth knowledge of the remedies, I can help them to recognize exactly how they are feeling and choose the combination of remedies best suited to helping them towards balance and calm.
Once the right combination of remedies has been found I will mix them in a 30ml mixing bottle to be taken home. The recommended dosage is 4 drops 4 times a day for 3 weeks or until the problem ceases.
Bach Flower Remedies can be safely used by everyone, even pregnant women and children.
